If you're interested in his story, you should read Where Men Win Glory by Jon Krakauer. I know obsessive patriotism is this subreddit's thing, but there was a lot more to him than that. Once you learn his backstory and about all of his complex motivations and deep thoughts about the war and life in general, and read his letters home, it becomes a little sad to see him reduced to an "America, fuck yeah" figure. That's not how he would have wanted to be remembered. He was a great thinker and a reluctant warrior as well as a patriot.
