I do love the irony, but I assumed that the message of peace implied that they were on the moon solely for exploration, and not to claim it and make it a weapons base or some unreachable military platform.

When you (USA) landed on the moon, that’s the point where god should have come up and said hello. Because if you create some creatures, put them on the blue one and they make it to the grey one, you fucking turn up and say "Well done”. That's just common courtesy.
