So Anakin was really about 3x more likely to lose that fight by the end of it simply by how little high ground time he had...interesting

This gotta be the most confusing way to visualize a simple "who got the high ground at what time"

Obi is just the most bad ass sith slayer that exists in the galaxy, all other jedi suck or failed. That last fight had so much content leading up to it that is was necessary to fill it with subtle references. I think it is important to note that although Anakin had a significant raw power advantage over Obi-wan, he did not has the experience intelligence, or emotional control over that raw talent to achieve his goal of saving Padme and taking over the galaxy. Obi-wan on the other hand, did not ever have an abundance of power or skill, what he did have was; faith in the jedi code, mastery over himself, the intuition and presence of mind to constantly add small advantages from the environment to strengthen his position.

If you really want to go balls deep in this shit, research Obi-wan's lightsaber combat style and it is written like a buzzfeed personality quiz for Obi. This relaxed defensive style is characterised by quick strikes, parrying and counter attacking. Obi manages to marry that style to Mace windu's hardcore beat them to a pulp style. The intent of that being, that he exhausts his opponent by being nimble (and having high endurance himself) blocking and dodging, and then once they have accumulated fatigue and small injuries he turns it on and hammers them with hard, fast strikes that break their defenses and their bodies. Hahaha.

I'm wondering if him saying it was over was him pointing out that he had exhausted ani and had weakened him enough that even if anakin had been able to make that jump, he would have still fallen to Obi's skill with a saber. Even in the last moments, Obi is desperate to bring anakin back from the dark side. This guy is his best friend and baby brother, and i think doing what he did to anakin broke his faith, to an extent, in the jedi. I mean, Obi-wan is such a pimp that he brought a sith lords pregnant wife to the fight with him. Now, we are supposed to think he is hitching a ride, finding anakin, and then intervenes when anakin starts choking padme. However, that begs the question, why fight him there on mustafar? Why not set a trap on coruscant? Why put padme in the middle of them and endanger her? The holotape would have told him where to find anakin if he would have watched it for like 3 more seconds. I BELIEVE OBI-WAN STOWED AWAY ON HER SHIP AND CONFRONTED ANI WITH HER IN ORDER TO DISTRACT ANI WITH HER PRESENCE. This, like the high ground, is NOT independently WHY Obi-wan won the fight but rather part of an orchestrated chorus of mental, environmental, and physical attacks specifically tailored to break down Anakin's stamina, focus, and emotion. That is why Obi always wins. The dude is the conductor and the battlefield is his orchestra.

Edited metaphor to be more effective.
