Mmmmmm Copper. I used to work for an awesome electrician who would scrap like twice a year for about 600 each. He'd then have a fun day some time where he'd take us out and pay for everything. Was a small outfit with only 6 employees max.
When I had an electrician put in Cat 6 Ethernet wiring in my house, he brought an entire big roll of it. He left 3/4 of that huge roll in the trash. Guess who made himself like 20 very nice patch cords he would have otherwise had to pay quite a bit for?
My husband's job contract has a no-salvage stipulation. If he's caught salvaging anything, he immediately gets fired. He's seen so much of this stuff go to waste over the past 4 years. ðŸ˜
