After a bit of research I discovered that this image was taken by the WorldView-3 satellite, over 800 miles to the west of San Fran(cisco), in the middle of the Pacific ocean!! Thats incredible! I've used satellite imagery a lot in my studies (geography student) and never seen images this good!
