I am a white as it gets European and lurk here for the wholesomeness. Does somebody care ELI5 what it is with these scholarships? Are they bound to certain colleges, majors, schools? And wtf are honors programs? I feel lost here yet I am super happy for that gal!
300,000 cumulative is like ~20k per school... That's not even enough for a full year for out of state schools, assuming she's going to a prestigious/well known school... But im a lazy bum who got kicked outta my college, 🤷

I couldn't even afford to apply to 14 schools.
