I have a strong feeling that when I’m eventually old and wrinkly, this photo will still be one of my all-time favorites! Not that many people on here care, but this was a terrific day. My wife and I saw the most amazing sunrise from high up in the Chisos Mountains (pictured here in the background) and spent the rest of the day hiking around the park. We came down to the Rio Grande Village Nature Walk to hopefully watch a decent sunset and ended up with one that was second to none! Big Bend is so hard to get to and therefore one of the least visited parks in the NPS, but it has so much to offer for those who decide to go.

Captured with: Canon 6d, Canon 70-200mm f/2.8, Breakthrough Photography X4 CPL and a Manfrotto tripod.

If you like Texas, camping, wildflowers or golden retrievers, I have all of that and more over on my Instagram @pingzer where I post some of my favorite pics and snapshots from my trips. If you’re looking for more Big Bend photos, you can visit my website where I currently have a BBNP gallery up for viewing. Prints and digital downloads are available here as well.

Have a great day y’all!

Stunning shot! Visiting Big Bend has been on my bucket list for the longest time, I really need to make the 9 hour drive from Houston one of these days.
