As someone who has a spring fed natural pond, my mind almost exploded when you added cat tails, over the last 9 years I've spent 100's of hours dealing with them, including draining and dredging the pond deeper... ugh

I really like it - looks like a lot of hard work but it paid off.
One question -- did you add any sort of containment for the bamboo you planted? I don't have a lot of experience with different types, but in my area there is an aggressive form of bamboo that people planted for screening purposes and now it is taking over.
