Building a Natural Swim Pond

Authored by imgur.com and submitted by power-cube

The cattails and willow tree at night. I hope you enjoyed viewing this project. It has been a labor of love and we are just now starting to really get to enjoy it. Remember I had no idea what I was doing. I just did it. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't. Just start doing it. You will make mistakes. You will learn. You will figure it out. Now have fun and go build something!

As someone who has a spring fed natural pond, my mind almost exploded when you added cat tails, over the last 9 years I've spent 100's of hours dealing with them, including draining and dredging the pond deeper... ugh

I really like it - looks like a lot of hard work but it paid off.

One question -- did you add any sort of containment for the bamboo you planted? I don't have a lot of experience with different types, but in my area there is an aggressive form of bamboo that people planted for screening purposes and now it is taking over.
