I used to work at a local movie theater when I was in high school, and we were told to lie to customers and tell them that we used real butter on the popcorn. I hated that practice, but my dumbass took part in it a few times, albeit with little conviction. Nowadays, I would handle that situation very differently. The movie theater in question is under new management, anyway. I don't believe there's any good reason to encourage those practices, and in fact I think there are countless reasons against them.
