I was the TA for a bible literature class where we looked at the bible not as a holy text, but how it affected media, for example the use of Christ imagery in films like the Truman Show.
I had someone get mad when I said the book was just a collection of stories. Like wtf, its in bold on the first page of the syllabus that this isn't a religion class but a literature one and if you can't park your faith at the door, don't take the class.

My high school civics teacher would say she wasn't going to share her beliefs and then she'd be like "but, (insert political belief here)"
