Protest have been going on in India over demands for educational reforms.
Govt. for years have been leaking paper that can be bought in black market for huge amounts, thus only rich can afford that.
Basically by this way government has been putting people of their choice in places of power.
Where students work hard for years wasting their youth in exams which gives no employable skill in hope of getting a better life, rich simply lands on without studying and clear the exam, students from poor and middle class are left with nothing after precious prime years of their life are wasted. Jobless and skill-less.
Recent outbreak occurred after medical entrance college entrance exam called NEET was leaked, and youth were simmering.
In such condition chief justice of India gave a statement saying youth of India are like cockroaches, destroying country.
After this statement a man named abhijit dipke (was studying in USA) made a satirical instagram, X page and website of a satirical political party named Cockroach janta party (CJP) ( parody of rulling Bhartiya Janta party). within a week Instagram gained 22 million followers.
with huge success or this, leader of CJP returned to India and started protesting asking for accountability of more than 100 papers leaked under current education minister.
Soon, India's famous activist Sonam wangchuk, who he is well respected by every political group joined the protest and sat on indefinite hunger strike till Education minister is removed.
He called on for a march towards parliament of country to make pressure on government on 20th july since monsoon session of parliament was starting that day.
On 18th july, Commissioner of police of Delhi was transferred citing illogical reasons (rising crime in delhi), and the very first day of new commissioner Delhi police came in civilian clothing abused sonam wangchuk and took him to hospital giving reason that delhi high court gave the order. (no such order was given, court said to monitor his health not to remove him from protest). Also there is a hilarious video of attempt of police to hide sonam basically delhi police using white clothes as curtains while sonam is picked so that nobody can take pictures or videos of him being manhandled by police.
on 19th numerous videos and pictures of delhi police planting stones and broken vehicles near protest site to claim that protest was violent and justify police action surfaced.
Protest continued and gained more momentum because of this, on 20th july i.e. today, thousands of people gathered and marched toward parliament. Delhi police used electric battons, sticks, tear gas and shells on students.
The picture is of parliament of India, where CISF personnel were probably ordered to fire if someone manages to cross the barricading near parliament.
