Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s real estate holdings were already a political mess.

These controversies generated a broader question about just how many homes Paxton, the GOP’s Senate nominee in Texas this year, currently owns.

His 2026 opponent, Democratic state Rep. James Talarico, recently told MS NOW’s Jen Psaki, “Since taking office, Ken Paxton has now become a multimillionaire, while our pay has remained stagnant for years, for decades.

MaddowBlog published a fact-check report last week that largely confirmed Talarico’s claim: Paxton, either in his personal capacity or through the trust that oversees his assets, owns five homes in Texas, three in Florida, two in Utah and one in Oklahoma.

(Publicly available materials also point to a Paxton-owned lot in Hawaii, although there does not appear to be any structure on the property.).

Although it seems hard to believe, it now appears that Talarico understated matters. »
