Manatees are so weird. Imagine living in sea water and you can only drink fresh water. They have no folds in their brain which isn't a good sign, yet, they have been observed to intentionally farm seagrass by eating less desirable algae. Nature's mystery.
For the confused: the boat engine sucks in water for cooling, but saltwater is corrosive over time. So every time you are done using the boat/engine in saltwater, you cycle fresh water through to clean out the salt.
