Brilliant. Back in the 80s, my office allowed smoking in the break room but no fish in the microwave. If I ruled the world, WFH would be the default, and businesses would have to justify forcing workers to RTO. And no, 'synergy' is not a valid reason. Just think of all improvements to air quality, travel time, and mental health, and workers that actually need to commute won't have to deal with unnecessary gridlock on the highways. Covid let the cat out of the bag: workers can actually be more productive working remotely, contrary to what we were told for years even though the technology was available. Now companies use RTO to force workers to quit so they don't have to pay unemployment benefits.
