For anyone curious, this is a traditional Persian metalworking craft called ghalamzani, done entirely by hand with a hammer and a small chisel. Here's a short video if you'd like to see more.
If you zoom in you can really see all the detail and time that went into making this piece; I should note that this plate is about the size of a manhole cover. Usually my grandfather would spend hundreds of hours when making intricate pieces like this.
