"Goddess of Democracy" was a plaster and foam statue built by student protestors during the 1989 Tiananmen Square Protests. The statue was completed May 30th, 1989, and destroyed during the crackdown on June 4th 1989 5 days later, replicas have been made around the world in remembrance.
