You "may violate Federal Law" if you flip off the gas pump. May... but probably not.
Edit: for what it’s worth I looked up wtf this is about. Basically this sticker is only on mixer pumps that don’t have a dedicated nozzle for E10 (or less) fuel.
Some motorcycle group pointed out that if you had someone fuel up with E15, the hose still has about 1/3 of a gallon still in it. Then if a motorcycle (or someone wanting fuel for a lawnmower) only wanted a gallon or so of E10, they would end up with a high concentration of ethanol. This high concentration could damage fuel lines, etc. So the minimum to be safe would be 4 gallons to be closer to a safe concentration of ethanol.
So it’s a weird way to protect these consumers. Tell them they can’t buy enough fuel to guarantee a safe concentration. If you risk it and only buy 1-2 gallons and damage your ride, welp, that’s on you.
I heard that it is the minimum amount of gas to dilute what was left in the line to 10% Ethanol (incase the previous customer bought E15 from the same hose).
