I remember when Muammar Gaddafi pretended to give up nuclear weapons that he never had so America and NATO could look good on camera as a favor to George Bush and Tony Blair and then they went directly back to vilifying him at every turn.
America's policy has always been make friends with the enemy just long enough to get what you need and then stab them directly in the back when we're clear.
Considering Trump is famous for his "shake and pull" handshake, this is a very clever drawing. A country with a military budget 1/50th the size of the US budget has the Hormuz Strait clearly under its heavy influence, if not control, and its terms for making peace with the US are literally a wishlist of everything Iran's current regime could ever hope for.
