What I find interesting is that it's primarily homicides in those figures. I think when a lot of people see the stat, me included, they thought it was kids playing around with unsecured guns. But no, it's murder - the stats don't specify whether the murderer was an adult or another child/teen.
When accounting for only accidental and undetermined deaths, they wouldn't even account for top 10. In terms of accidental deaths, automobiles are something like 20 times more deadly.

Only if you don't include children 0-2 years old and include 19 year old adults in order to get that result.
Gun violence is not the #1 cause of death for any age group of actual children.
