this mural was painted after barcelona's 18 year old star lamine yamal waved a palestinian flag during their la liga title parade. it went viral globally and these artists in gaza painted this to thank him. israel's government strongly criticized the player's gesture, but the club stated it was his personal spontaneous choice.
Palestinians are always so grateful for people doing as minimum as raising their flag or speaking about them. We failed them. We should’ve done much much more than the symbolism.
