Lots of hate in the comments, but if you’re not sad, then this flight was never for you. As somebody on a budget, I always loved getting somewhere for less than $100 with only a backpack.
Spirit airlines helped to lower air travel prices by competition. Now that they are gone there is less competition. Even less pressure for cheaper travel. Sure, it sucked traveling on Spirit but they were legitimately cheaper and sometimes the best option. So it is sad to see them go.
