She's about to get her wish.

In January 2024, the South Korean government unanimously passed a law banning the sale and production of dog meat. The law will be only be enforced in 2027 to allow farmers to wind down what was already a heavily declining industry (and never especially large to begin with, as farming/dietary practice goes). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dog_meat_consumption_in_South_Korea

I visited Vietnam a few years ago and one of our tour guides told us that dog meat was not something you’d be served sneakily. It was considered a delicacy by a small subset of older people, and as such it was actually quite expensive. I felt a bit bad that she felt like she needed to tell us all that. I can only imagine that a lot of tourists asked her about it.
