Monoammonium phosphate is a type of common fertilizer that gives plants nitrogen and phosphorus. It also forms very nice crystals. Since it is cheap and non-toxic, it is the main ingredient in many children's crystal growing kits.

This particular crystal took me 6 weeks to grow. Usually, these crystals are white, but in this case I added some food coloring to dye it orange. The crystal is shelf-stable. However, the spikes are quite brittle, and will break if you press on them.

Looks just like bone cancer
