On 17 March, Republican lawmakers in Tennessee advanced a sweeping proposal that would require healthcare providers to submit detailed information about patients receiving gender-affirming care, data that would ultimately be published in a public state report.

While House Bill 754 is put forward as a measure to make insurance companies that cover gender-affirming care also provide coverage for “detransition procedures”, it goes much further, mandating the collection of sensitive details from providers including patient treatment timelines, prescription or surgery information, a patient’s location data, and a patient’s age and biological sex.

As per Transitics, when taken together, these requirements could violate HIPAA and make it possible to identify individual patients, effectively creating a publicly accessible record of transgender people in the state.

The proposal also places significant pressure on medical professionals, with strict penalties for failing to comply, including potential license suspensions and heavy fines.

Although the bill claims it would avoid sharing personally identifiable information, it’s argued that the level of detail required in this bill makes true anonymity difficult to guarantee and raises serious concerns about patient privacy and safety.

Christian nationalist Nazis mimicking 1933 Germany in every way. This is disgusting.

Christian nationalists are trying to commit genocide on trans people, because their religion says that trans people are "abominations" that must be sent to hell for eternal torment. Christian nationalists love to say they love everyone and that God loves everyone. Well, by their example, that's clearly not the case.

If being a Christian means hating and committing genocide against trans people, then I would rather burn in hell with my trans friends. Trans people are my friends and family, including the ones I don't know in person.
