Good lord most of you are ridiculous. There have been several pictures posted recently, and it has been stated repeatedly that the family and James himself gave permission. If this is what they agreed to do, it's not cringe. In fact it puts a face on what cancer does to someone and helps raise awareness.
Have a heart, people.
EDIT wow thank you for the awards. For those insisting it's still a bad look, you do you I guess but at the end of the day, James died of colorectal cancer at 48 years old. It is becoming increasingly common in men under age 50, and that needs much more awareness. These pictures bring that to light.

For those wondering.
James van Der Beek died this weekend after being diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer in 2023.
Framed in the photo are Mr. Ribeiro and Mr. Van Der Beek on his deathbed saying their presumably final goodbyes.
