EDIT FOR NON AMERICANS: apparently, it was a memorial bike ride, ask DHS why they teargassed it not why there were kids there. And for the record most protests in this country are family affairs, especially on the best coast.

Portlander here: this event was promoted as a peaceful rally; plenty of families listening to speakers. I was there.
