A son of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has been involved in a car accident in the Russian city of Grozny. Sources say 18-year-old Adam Kadyrov is in a serious condition and has been taken to hospital.

Source: local media outlet Kavkaz.Realii, citing two informed sources; Chechen opposition Telegram channel NIYSO

Quote from a source: "The roads to the hospital are closed because Adam was being taken there. He is said to be unconscious and in intensive care. We do not know for certain exactly what happened to Kadyrov's son."

Details: Another source, a member of the diaspora, provided similar information.

Opposition channel NIYSO reported that Adam Kadyrov's motorcade "was travelling at high speed, one car after another, when it suddenly encountered an obstacle". "As a result, the cars started crashing into each other, so we are receiving reports that there are several casualties, but the commotion is mainly because of Adam."

NIYSO says Kadyrov Jr is in intensive care and is being prepared to be transferred to Moscow.

Adam Kadyrov , 18, is one of the best-known children of Ramzan Kadyrov, head of the Russian republic of Chechnya.

In October 2023, Kadyrov awarded Adam , then 15, the title of Hero of the Chechen Republic after a video appeared online showing Adam beating 19-year-old Ukrainian Mykyta Zhuravel in a Grozny pre-trial detention centre for allegedly burning a Quran. Kadyrov said he was proud of his son's actions.

Since then, Adam Kadyrov has received various awards and held several high-ranking positions in Chechnya . He is the secretary of the Chechen Security Council and oversees the republican Ministry of Internal Affairs.

On New Year's Eve 2025 , there were media reports that Ramzan Kadyrov had been hospitalised in Moscow , although this has not been officially confirmed.

Local opposition movement NIYSO has also reported the accident, saying Adam Kadyrov's convoy "was moving at high speed, car after car, when it suddenly encountered an obstacle."

"As a result, the cars began crashing into one another, which is why we are receiving information that there are many injured,"
