The tar paper coal shacks, the red clay dirt farmers of Tennessee, the devastation of the Kentucky railroad counties like Pike and Harlan. The first executive order he gave upon entering office, day one, was to mobilize the Federal government to stop people from starving to death in the richest country in the history of the world.
