It's apparently very uncommon for fires on the scaffolding itself, but seeing how that mesh was burning in tons of spots in this big fire definitely seems to point to it as a probable cause for the spreading of fire to the other buildings.
bamboo is still the bread and butter of the south east asian construction industries.
I am 100% certain other human factors will emerge, rather than just the nature of bamboo scaffolding. it is omnipresent everywhere in hong kong and further.
