Prairieville mom sentenced to 26 years for felony sex crimes involving teenagers
PRAIRIEVILLE - A Prairieville mom who was convicted of felony sex crimes involving teenagers was sentenced to 26 years in prison during a hearing Tuesday.
Leeann Yammarino, 44, previously pleaded no contest to two counts of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile and two counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile in September.
In court on Tuesday, Yammarino's daughter asked for the maximum sentence for each charge.
Judge Gant-Turner sentenced Yammarino to 10 years for each carnal knowledge charge and three years each for the indecent behavior charges.
Prosecutors alleged she had sex with a 14-year-old boy between Jan. 1, 2024, and July 30, 2024. Also, she had been accused of "sexting" with multiple teenagers ranging from 14 to 16 years old.
She was arrested in August 2024 and did not bond out. She will receive credit for time served and has to register as a sex offender for 15 years.

Wow the article doesn’t explain why her daughter is involved here but I’m sure there’s some drama there

As a forensic therapist that works with male sex offenders, I find female sex offenders to be a very interesting group from a psychological/academic perspective.
There are precious few studies on them, but the general belief in the field is that they are underrepresented in the data of sex offenders due to their style of approach (grooming and coercion vs. force), the fact that there is little to no physical evidence to tie to an assault or rape, and the cultural factors that dissuade victims from coming forward (or even believing they were raped) and the general belief that "women can't/don't do that sort of thing."
At some point in my career I would love to work with female sex offenders to better understand these dynamics, because when I talk to my clients who were raped or sexually assaulted as kids (most of them) about 30-40% of them report that they were abused by women or girls.
