A search in Gaza on Oct 28 for the bodies of dead hostages, kidnapped by Hamas during the October 2023 attack on Israel.

– Israel’s military said on Nov 1 that three bodies it received from Gaza via the Red Cross the previous night were not of hostages held in the Palestinian territory.

The Israeli military told AFP that a forensic analysis revealed the bodies were not those of any of the 11 dead captives still to be handed over as part of a US-brokered ceasefire deal .

Among the 17 bodies already returned since the start of the ceasefire are those of 15 Israelis, one Thai and one Nepalese national.

Hamas said in a statement on Nov 1 that it had initially offered three samples from unidentified bodies to the Israeli authorities for testing. Israel refused the offer, it said, insisting on the full remains, a condition the group later agreed to.

After the start of the truce on Oct 10, Hamas returned the 20 surviving hostages still in its custody and began the process of returning the bodies of the dead captives.

I have said it before the so-called "ceasefire" deal that Hamas as of now don't have any hostages and everyone lumped into me as "hamas-supporter" for no reason just for giving a very logical deduction that after this much bombing it is practically impossible to keep track of hostages in a centralized manner.

Guess I am a "Hamas supporter" now for saying killing the negotiators will in fact not get any deal done but I know I know I should stop supporting Hamas by saying facts I guess.

At this point there is no point of ceasefire. Hostages are gone. Hamas have no leverage. Israel WANTS the world to know that Hamas to have leverage so that they can keep bombing Gaza. At the same time Hamas WANT the world to know that Hamas have leverage so Israel can keep bombing Gaza to keep themselves in power.

Both sides want the same thing. Keep Bombing Gaza. Why should either side want a ceasefire? All of this "return the hostages" is just a front. Israel knows they have killed all the hostages but still wants Hamas to give it back.

At this point both Israel and Hamas are irrational actors and neither of them should be a part of any peace deal if actual peace is what we wants and not media points.

SS: The Israeli army has stated that the remains that Hamas has returned on 31st were not the remains of the dead hostages, alleging that Hamas is deliberately delaying and not being complicit with the brokered peace treaty. Hamas however has stated that it will take time to search for dead bodies under the debry, stating that they did offer a sample for Israel to verify but Israel had rejected because it was against the treaty. While not a premise to restart war, this needs to be addressed to maintain the fragile peace within the region
