The mold shouldn’t be much of an issue. There are cleaners that can attach to 35mm projectors. If it’s bad it can affect the image. But as long as it was kept well, it probably can still be projected. The bigger issue was how the film was made in term of the color processing. Often older prints might turn red.
Any chance the reel is numbered? Pulp fiction probably had 9 reels. The most rare is reel 1. After a title ran its theatrical release course, most studios would have the first reel destroyed so as to not sell the entire movie.
