Dentist here... my guess is that the owner of this jaw died with most of those teeth intact. the front teeth and 3 of the 4 premolars are gone. But I see sockets. If they were extracted years earlier, bone would have filled in those spaces. In the water... dead person, no blood going to the periodontal ligament, the PDL deteriorates. the teeth with straight, single roots can just fall out. Molars have more than one root... often curved. So, they didn't exfoliate as easily.

I found a human tibia bone off the coast of Barbados as a teenager, just snorkeling off a tourist beach.
There was a cop there chatting, i approached him with it asking what to do.
"no worries mon! Just trow it back in the wata" he said, huge grin.
In the water it went. Definitely a human tibia bone, tho.
