AttritoM7 Productions is working on a new gritty third-person action thriller that is heavily inspired by John Wick, called BLACKWOOD. BLACKWOOD targets a Q3 2026 release date, and below you can find its debut gameplay trailer.
BLACKWOOD is a game from a small team. Moreover, this trailer packs footage from its alpha build. As such, I suggest keeping your expectation in check. This looks rough. At the same time, it looks kind of cool. To be honest, this reminded me of the AA games we’ve been getting in the X360 days.
The gunplay in BLACKWOOD promises to be fast, stylish, and unforgiving. The game aims to have fluid movement options like dives, rolls, and slides to keep the action relentless. So, think of it as a mix of Max Payne and John Wick.
One of the key features of BLACKWOOD will be the countless contextual takedowns. From one-on-one hand-to-hand executions to using the environment around you, every fight will be an opportunity to end your enemies with precision and style.
As I said, this is a AA game. So, don’t expect this to be the next Max Payne game. Right now, BLACKWOOD needs a lot more polishing. However, its combat mechanics appear to be good. So, there is a lot of potential here for a fun game.

Did he just curb stomp a guy??? This looks interesting but I hope it improves. It looks clunky and the graphics are a generation or two old. Also what they need to add is an ability to reduce incoming damage by grabbing one side of his suit jacket and using it as a shield like JWs bullet proof suit.
