My family is half immigrants. I have friends who are immigrant. I provide material help to immigrants, legal or illegal.
I'm not putting any immigrants in one box or another. They're not all bad people. They're not all good people. They're people, and people are mixed bags.
I forget the stats on it but by the numbers a lot of people die trying to cross into the US. America is so great that people are literally willing to die just to try to get here, and are ok working the worst jobs for pay well below what they should because it is better than where they came from.
You can criticize a lot about the US, and you should, but for many people the ability to pray to a different god than their neighbors without fear of being killed with stones is a right they don’t have and that alone is worth defending.
