The grandmother of an 11-year-old girl who gave birth last month at her family's Oklahoma home was charged after prosecutors alleged she knew about the pregnancy and failed to report it to authorities.

Michelle Justus, the child’s maternal grandmother, was charged with six counts of felony child neglect, according to the Muskogee County District Attorney’s Office.

Prosecutors alleged that Justus was in regular contact with the 11-year-old and saw the girl almost daily, including on Aug. 16, when the girl gave birth. »
