This was brought in by the right-wing Conservative Party. At the time, there was some opposition to this saying that this was a sneaky, backhanded precursor to cutting welfare and health by getting people upset at how much it cost.

I quite like knowing where the budget goes, though.

Edit: I can't remember which episode but if you want to see if you like bluey and you are a young parent then I strongly recommend the episode Baby Race. That really helped me with my 2 kids and the stress of expectations.
