The Druze are once again caught in the middle of bigger powers. Their identity and survival have always depended on balancing between states, empires, and neighbors. This push for self-determination feels less about ideology and more about basic survival in a region where alliances shift constantly. The question is: who would actually back them long-term, without using them as a pawn?

Would be nice for Europeans to take a five minute break away from Palestinian statehood to support the Druze for a change. The current Syrian leadership can't be trusted to protect them.
