Spent my childhood watching my folks get brainwashed by Fox News every night. Argued with them off and on about it through the 90's-00's. The internet/social media turned that into Tea Party stuff, Qanon, then MAGA. All just different names for the same sickness. I could tolerate it for a long time because they were all I had, but now I've got a kid of my own and I'm cutting ties with them to prevent my daughter from being drawn into their influence.
It's tragic. They were loving parents once, but media influence trained them to hate. There's (rightfully) a lot of anti-Trump sentiment going around right now, but he's just a cog in the machine. The problem will persist after he's gone.
I don't know if we can wrest control of this country from the hands of the GOP, but if we do there needs to be emergency efforts made to save ourselves from this corruption. Our safeguards proved weak and failed us when confronted by a handful of rich and powerful individuals. All it took was money and hate/fear mongering.
Simply removing Trump won't solve the underlying problem. America is in desperate need of serious political reform to survive the modern era.
Edit: This is a pretty long article (or short biography) of the guy that runs Fox News. I know most people aren't on Reddit for a long read, but at this point we should all try and understand how we got to this place in history.
My parents were big time fox viewers. It was on in our house a lot when I was a kid. About 6 or 7 years ago, they decided to stop watching it all the time (they’ll have it on for important things like SOTU’s, elections etc) but otherwise it’s not what they’re watching.
It’s like a switch flipped. My dad, the car carrying Republican hates Trump now. My mom is pretty much a Republican in name only now… she believes in climate change, LGBTQA+ rights, has been voting democrat the last several election cycles.

I really think there could be a path back.
