Holy shit man, I wonder what our current active military and veterans of Reddit thinks of this?

I remember how much conservative outrage there was when Obama did a world tour meeting with various foreign leaders at the outset of his first term. Obama expressed some degree of regret that the Iraq War wasn’t a great strategic decision (which, in historical perspective, is blindingly obvious), and he was derided by conservatives for doing an “apology tour.” The idea was that even if he were right about the Iraq War, he should never even remotely concede error with foreign leaders bc it made us look weak.

Now this. We literally have US soldiers kneeling before the Russian autocrat-in-chief so he can feel sufficiently feted before our CinC pays him obeisance. How this is not 100x worse than any purported “apology tour” I’ll never know.

Oh, and Putin handed Trump his ass in the negotiations. Apparently a total loss for the US, so Trump returns looking defeated and weak and Putin returns to Russia looking stalwart and strong. People can vote for who they want but the narrative that Trump is a tough guy seems so obviously wrong that I just can’t get my head around why anyone would buy it.
