From a guarded banquet hall in Tampa, Florida, US, Pakistan's Army Chief Asim Munir issued a nuclear threat saying that if his nation faced ruin, 'we’ll take half the world down with us'.

Pakistan’s Army Chief has set off alarm bells with an unprecedented warning—delivered not in Islamabad, but from Tampa, Florida. Speaking at a private dinner, Army Chief Asim Munir said, "We are a nuclear nation. If we think we are going down, we’ll take half the world down with us."

According to reports, this marks the first known instance of a nuclear threat being issued from American soil against another nation. The remarks came during a function hosted by businessman Adnan Asad, Tampa’s honorary consul, where around 120 guests of Pakistani origin were present. Security at the gathering was tight—cellphones and other digital devices were banned. A representative from the Israel Defence Forces was also said to be in attendance.

Munir also lashed out at India over the Indus Waters Treaty, accusing New Delhi of endangering food supplies for 250 million people after putting the pact "in abeyance" following April’s Pahalgam terror attack. "We will wait for India to build a dam, and when it does so, phir das missile sey faarigh kar dengey (we will destroy it with 10 missiles)... The Indus River is not the Indians’ family property. Humein missilon ki kami nahin hai, al-hamdulillah (we have no shortage of missiles, Praise be to God),” he said.

Munir also turned his attention to Pakistan’s recent four-day conflict with India, questioning why New Delhi has not disclosed its losses. “The Indians should accept their losses... Sportsman spirit is a virtue,” Munir said, adding that Pakistan would reveal its own toll if India reciprocated.

Referring to an earlier online post, he noted: “Ek tweet karwaya tha with Surah Fil and a picture of (the industrialist) Mukesh Ambani to show them what we will do the next time.” He then spelled out a war plan: “We’ll start from India’s East, where they have located their most valuable resources, and then move westwards.”

'India A Shiny Mercedes, Pakistan A Dump Truck Full Of Gravel'

In what he himself called a “crude analogy,” Munir compared Pakistan’s position to that of a “dump truck full of gravel” on a collision course with India’s “shiny Mercedes.” “India is shining, a Mercedes coming on a highway like a Ferrari, but we are a dump truck full of gravel. If the truck hits the car, who is going to be the loser?” he asked.

This was Munir’s second trip to the US in as many months—his last visit included a White House lunch with President Trump on June 18, during which he proposed Trump’s name for the Nobel Peace Prize, an idea he repeated in Tampa.

Amid chatter that he could be eyeing Pakistan’s presidency, Munir told the crowd: “They say war is too serious to be left to the Generals, but politics is also too serious to be left to the politicians.” Munir, who has a seminary education, is widely viewed as Pakistan’s most powerful man—and perhaps one of its most ambitious.

I wonder to what degree he feels emboldened to say this because of recent friction between the US and India.

Pakistan survives on the support of China and the USA. Both arch rivals support this rogue nation without any real productive workforce or natural resources just to inhibit the growth of India.

So, Pakistan's officials feel as if they have some power or so. But in reality they are just in a situation like a dog is fed and maintained to harass the neighbours, and the dog feels that it is fed due to love from the owner.

That statement suits the head of a terrorist organisation, not a field marshal. It's just sad.
