80’s kid here to answer a couple questions.
Yes, these were popular and either wore these or something my mom sewed together.
No, they weren’t creepy. Basically same crap-a-bag they sell at Spirit nowadays.
Yes, everything in the 80’s was brown or baby-shit yellow. It’s not the bad photos, EVERY THING WAS BROWN.

That smelly rubber band for the mask that would break several times during the day forcing you to knot the pieces back together making the mask tighter and tighter as Halloween went on.
