Before Miguel moved into Caroline's building, the previous tenant left a bad taste in Caroline's mouth. He messed up the rooftop deck that she fixed up, motivating her to ban whoever moved in next. After greeting Miguel with a cold shoulder to deter him from her space, she maintained her distance. He heard her playing music. "I play upright bass." "Sure you do." "I'm a firefighter too." "Sure, you are." He wasn't lying. They started a band, became best friends, and realized they were soul mates.
We take our instruments wherever we travel. In the summer of 2024, we followed our friend in his '29 roadster with a truck and a trailer containing Caroline's '74 beetle out to the Bonneville salt flats. We did donuts in the salt, saw some of the fastest cars on planet earth, hung out with pinup girls and played a show on the flat bed of a pickup truck while a thunderstorm rolled in. Definitely a trip for the books.
If we had an extra $20k, we would put it towards the most awesome desert-surf-love celebration ever at the Palm Springs Surf Club! While Miguel doesn't really surf, he knows that weddings are really about the bride anyway, and Caroline getting to shred with her homies on her special day would be a dream come true! Tacos, live music, splitting peaks and tying the knot. Perfection.
