Off-duty NYPD Officer Didarul Islam was honored in a dignified transfer at NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Hospital. Fellow officers, including members of the NYPD Bangladeshi Officers Group, saluted as Islam’s family members looked on (Kevin C. Downs/Redux).
There's also usually an "end of watch" radio call that goes out across the main radio channel. Where I'm from, dispatch calls their radio call sign twice, then when they don't respond after a long pause, the dispatcher notes the time and says "End of watch nn:nn". It's very tough to hear.
