I remember how “hitler” in India is taken much more casually — like kids often referred to teachers as “hitlers” for being strict or mean.
At the same time, India did send a lot of troops on behalf of the crown to fight in WWII, though many, like my great grandfather, fought in the pacific theater (eg Burma).
Stalin is an even weirder one, since communism had its heyday in the country. I knew of a few people named (or nicknamed, idk) Stalin.
