The press service of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine reported the information.
"Cut off their heads, put them on spikes, throw them the f*ck out," said the leader of the 2nd Air Assault Company of the Air Assault Battalion of the 155th Separate Marine Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces.
Intelligence noted that this Russian brigade is currently engaged in combat operations in the Sumy region.
The 155th Russian Brigade is known for committing war crimes during the occupation of the Kyiv region, as well as in other areas of the front.
During the genocidal war against Ukraine, this brigade has repeatedly suffered heavy losses, which required replenishment with new recruits from among Russian mobilized soldiers, according to the Defence Intelligence.
According to the Defence Intelligence, the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine have repeatedly delivered precision strikes on the command posts of the 155th Brigade — in particular, on July 2, 2025, as a result of an attack on the headquarters in the Kursk region, the brigade commander, Colonel Serhii Illin, was killed.
"For the inhuman torture and barbaric killings of captured Ukrainian soldiers and civilians, the 155th Brigade of the invading Russian army has become one of Vladimir Putin’s favorite units — its flag was proudly waved during the so-called final press conference of the Russian dictator in December 2024. The executions and torture committed by the soldiers and leaders of the Kremlin’s privileged 155th Separate Brigade of cutthroats once again prove: war crimes are a deliberate, targeted, and approved policy of the aggressor state of Russia, and therefore the 155th brigade is subject to priority destruction on the battlefield," Ukrainian intelligence stated.

Doesn't this generate the opposite reaction u want out of an enemy combatant?
If Ukrainian soldier's know they are likely to die when surrendering won't they surrender way less and fight harder to avoid being captured?
i think Russia knows this aswell but just does not have the capacity and/or the humanity to treat captured soldier's with decency.
May this conflict be over as soon as possible with hopefully a Ukrainian diplomatic/military victory.
Either way Russia has already lost.

Killing POWs is so widespread amongst Russian soldiers that they must be receiving orders to do so. Surely.
