One of the craziest things about all this is that Trump's approach to deportation is resulting in less people being deported in general. With Obama and Biden, they focused on higher priority undocumented immigrants to be deported and court cases weren't lengthy and dragged out, meaning they were able to avoid red tape and simply deport people where the case was clear cut and easy.
With Trump's zero tolerance policy, ICE just goes after anyone and everyone - even American citizens in some cases, and the courts get clogged up leading to a less efficient deportation process, and in a few cases the process ends up being skipped altogether leading to more visibility on the issue and therefore more scrutiny in the long run.
There are also cases where folks self deport because they don't want to end up in a concentration camp of course, but I find it crazy that Trump's zero tolerance policy is actually resulting in less deportations in total.
His rhetoric and bombastic language when referring to undocumented immigrants is disgusting, but also makes it seem like he's deporting illegals en masse when all he's doing is making the whole process more difficult, and is keeping possibly legitimately dangerous undocumented immigrants in the country. His whole approach is counterproductive and stupid.
Remember everyone. The trick to protesting isn't one massive group. It's several smaller groups spread out as to overstretch government resources.
Keep it peaceful and keep it moving. Do not give the fascists any political ammunition by destroying your city. Use American Flags!! Don't let the right wing turn Old Glory into a symbol of hate.
