I think I was probably starting to become aware of cryptids and "ghost stories" around this age. Unless the other commenters and I are off the mark, getting her a book about North American Cryptids may be cool! I was into "spooky" things at that age and liked doing ghost tours with my family and reading the locally-written books of ghost stories (that totally happened and aren't being embellished at all, lol).
