Here in Sask, a town called Tisdale had it's slogan as you approached it on the highway as "The land of rape and honey". They only changed that maybe 10 or 15 years ago I think. The band Ministry released an album named with that slogan.
There was a big festival for this flower in an area of Korea where I was living and I had struck up a conversation with a women who seemed to know English well. She wanted to tell me about the festival but she started by saying. “Hey. Do you know rape?” I just responded, “I’m sorry. What?” And she said, “The flower. Rape flowers.” Like, I didn’t know where she was going at first. I’m sure the look on my face was not what she expected from me.
