Apparently, hummingbirds blink faster than humans can perceive. This is apparently a very rare shot and I stopped everything I was doing once I realized that was a hummingbird eyelid. I’ve taken Thousands of pictures of hummingbirds and I’ve never even seen one blink. Apparently, they even sleep with one eye open!

I looked for more pictures of a hummingbird with its eyelid and only found 4 other photos. Great shot of something we very very rarely see in photos.
